Julian St George, FCA After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Julian joined Ernst & Young in their London office and then moved to the International Conglomerate, Lonrho plc, where he undertook operational reviews of their UK subsidiaries. After leaving Lonrho, Julian joined the venture capitalist, Gresham House plc, where he acted as Financial Controller for a number of their investment companies and also investigated new investment opportunities. Subsequent to leaving Gresham, Julian has held positions as Finance Director of a number of private and listed companies and now acts as Part time Finance Director for a number of businesses.
John LuttrellJohn entered the financial services sector in the late eighties where he spent the early years providing financial advice to individuals and company owners. In later years John has focused his time on the lending sector, initially in the mortgage and buy to let markets and more recently in business finance. He has also delivered major cost savings through buying, efficient use of resources and systems improvement; whilst overhauled risk assessment and controls to safeguard assets and increase robustness. Enhanced performance and profit by restructuring, process and culture change; and better budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
Tom LuttrellTom has spent the past 25 years specialising in helping business owners and high net worth individuals in all areas of corporate and personal financial planning; property; sales and marketing; and building distribution.Tom held senior management positions with a significant global player in the financial services industry before being head hunted to join a new UK based financial advisory group in the independent sector. Mary Dawson, BSc, ACAMary has 20 years of experience working within the media, retail and leisure sectors. After qualifying with Ernst & Young in London, Mary then spent 8 yrs at Whitbread plc, 3 yrs at Blacks Leisure Group and 7 yrs at Huntsworth plc. Mary has extensive experience of building businesses through acquisition. At Huntsworth, the international PR group she helped to grow the market cap from £10m to £200m by assisting with and leading over 30 acquisitions. Her other areas of expertise include financial planning and analysis and working capital management.
John Coleman BSc, MiPDJohn has extensive experience working in all aspects of organisational change, strategy development, and business planning in the insurance sector. He has managed and led teams, divisions and business entities. He has focused his activities in a wide range of insurance underwriting and broking related projects. Generally these have related to determining business and segmentation strategy and refining management processes and organisational structures. John has worked in the insurance sector with insurance companies, Lloyd's Syndicates and insurance brokers for 22 years. For the last 2 years he has acted as MD of a $200m commercial insurance company. He is currently Non-Executive Chairman of Triton Global Ltd, a business encompassing claims handling, loss adjusting , legal and IT services.
Lawrence Purchase, FISM, APMILawrence spent nearly 40 years in sales and marketing in the financial services sector. He served at board level with several international actuarial consultancies and, in addition to extensive UK experience, his appointments included international director involving time in the USA. Lawrence has worked with many major international companies, including British Airways, Marks and Spencer, British Aerospace and AXA. Latterly, Lawrence established his own marketing consultancy and clients have included "dot com" operations, financial advisers, international estate agencies, investment advisers, IT consultants and luxury hardwood flooring suppliers.
David Prince, ACADavid has worked on the Boards of stand-alone quoted and privately owned SME businesses and of subsidiaries of US owned groups for more than 20 years. He specialises in development situations, with operational and strategic expertise in executing organic and acquisitive growth strategies; as well as reorganisation, cost reduction and turnaround. He has wide sector experience which includes: financial services, business services, electronics, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, shipping, and leisure. David has handled more than 20 M&A transactions as principal, including related public and private fund-raisings, and more than10 in an advisory capacity for a corporate finance boutique. A Big 4 trained accountant by background, David is also a qualified corporate treasurer and has held wider Board accountabilities in the areas of operations, risk, solvency, and capital management.
Tony Woodward, Chartered FCSI, DipPFS, Cert CII(MP)Starting on the floor of the stock-exchange with Kleinwort Benson, Tony progressed to become a Director of the Investment Management Division.After leaving Kleinworts, Tony joined a City based financial services advisory business and grew it to 120 staff across offices in London, NY and Chicago, advising 4,000 High Net Worth clients. In 2009 he left in a management buy-out and is now a qualified financial advisor in investments, pensions and mortgages. In 2014 Tony helped raise £56m from the UK government for a humanitarian charity group, which became the Start-Network. This network has 39 members including: Oxfam, Save the Children and Age UK. Tony continues to act as their Banking Advisor on a pro-bono basis. In 2012 Tony was awarded the Freedom of the City of London in the Worshipful Company of International Bankers.
